The house of Osman Belyalov, an activist of the “Crimean solidarity”, was searched in Crimea

In Bakhchisaray, on the morning of September 13th, enforcers conducted a search in the home of Osman Belyalov, an activist of the Crimean Solidarity. The activist is not at home at the moment. Belyalov went to Simferopol on a business trip, but did not reach his final destination and stopped responding. Belyalov’s wife confirmed that there is no information on the whereabouts of her husband. This is published in the group of “Crimean solidarity” on Facebook.

There were a lot of masked people in the house: police officers, OMON, Rosgvardia. After the search, the security officers took the father of Osman Belyalov to the district police department of the city of Bakhchisarai.

Security officers detained Selim Teifukov and Eldar Umerov, who were recording the officers’ actions on their mobile phones. At first, police officers approached them and asked for their identity documents, and straight away, the activists were detained by people in masks. Both were taken to the police department of Bakhchisaray. The activists were released after being photographed and their fingerprints being taken.

According to the “Crimean solidarity”, Osman Belyalov “was engaged in social and domestic problems of families of political prisoners”. His brother – Memet Belyalov – is a defendant in the case of the second Bakhchisaray group “Hizb ut-Tahrir”, and he has been in jail since October of the year 2017.
In 2017 year Osman was accused of participating in an uncoordinated meeting and got a fine of 10 thousand rubles. On 12th of May 2016, Crimean Tatars in Bakhchisaray were searched, the activists gathered in front of the cafeteria “Salachik” to protest.
