Emir-Usain Kuku, accused on the Yalta case of Hizb ut-Tahrir, started a hunger strike on June 26, that was informed by his wife Meriem on Facebook.
“This prejudiced and unlawful persecution and accusation of terrorism pushed him to this step. This is a protest against trumped-up cases against him and other unjustly arrested political prisoners! “- she wrote.
The investigation alleges that Kuku allegedly was in “Hizb ut-Tahrir” from at least September 18, 2015 till February 11 2016, that is, until the moment of detention by the FSB officers. Investigators believe that Kuku and other defendants “were charged with propagating the ideas of this organization among the local population in order to promote the views, ideas, and program guidelines of the terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir and engage the rest of the masses to participate in the activities of this terrorist organization.”
The participants of the “Hizb ut-Tahrir” Yalta case Emir-Usain Kuku, Muslim Aliyev, Vadim Sirouk, Ever Bekirov, Refat Alimov and Arsen Dzheparov are accused of the involvement in the activities of the terrorist organization “Hizb ut-Tahrir” (art. 205.5 CC) and preparation for the forcible seizure of power (art. 278 with the application of art. 30 CC).
“Hizb ut-Tahrir” is recognized as a terrorist organization on the territory of Russia. In different regions of the country, terrorism cases have been initiated, while members of the organization’s branches are accused and sentenced to various terms in a strict regime colony only on the grounds that they met in apartments, read religious literature and recruited new participants.
