On September 14, the Bakhchisaray City Court detained Osman Belyalov, an activist of the Crimean Solidarity public association, for five days for “mass production and distribution of extremist materials” (art. 20.29 of the Administrative Code). This was reported by Crimea. Realii with reference to their own correspondent.
According to activists, information about the court session appeared half an hour before the appointed time.
At the time of the September 13 search, Osman Belyalov was not at home. He left Simferopol, but he did not reach his destination. The activist’s family said that they cannot establish his whereabouts.
After the search, Belyalovs’ father was detained and released soon afterward.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has condemned the searches in the house of Osman Belyalov, the activist of the Crimean solidarity.
In 2016, the Russian court in the Crimea fined Osman Bialalov for 10 thousand rubles. He was accused of participating in an “unauthorized rally” near the cafe Salachik in Bakhchisaray on May 12, 2016. At that time the activists gathered near the cafe when they found out that Russian security officials were conducting searches in the homes of the Crimean Tatars.
