The lawyer, Aider Azamatov, lodged several complaints with Russian government agencies on September 7 in connection with the “critical health condition” of, and the “non provision of medical assistance” to, his client, Arsen Jepparov, defendant in the Yalta “Hizb ut-Tahrir case.”
The lawyer also forwarded a statement to the management of the pre-trial detention center asking that his client be given a medical examination in one of the city hospitals where he could be provided with qualified assistance. Furthermore, the lawyer addressed an application to the Russian ombudsperson Tatyana Moskalkova to assist in the rapid provision of health care to Jepparov.
“Arsen has been complaining about constant headaches for several months already. I’m worried about his life and health. His current condition can lead to a stroke or a heart attack. In the application I’m requesting that he be taken to one of the city hospitals where he can be provided with qualified assistance. “He won’t receive this assistance in the the pre-trial detention center,” said Azamatov.
Earlier the lawyer posted on Facebook that Arsen Jepparov was in a “critical condition”. At the end of May, the North Caucasian District Military Court extended the detention of the Yalta “Hizb ut-Tahrir case´s” six defendants for three months.
