Ildar Dadin writes about prison transfer to unknown destination

It’s the evening of 04.12.2016 (Sunday). I’m in the federal SIZO-2 jail again in the town of Vologda. They brought me here today before lunch. Now it’s 12 at night, and they say we’re going further.

It’s the evening of 04.12.2016 (Sunday). I’m in the federal SIZO-2 jail again in the town of Vologda. They brought me here today before lunch. Now it’s 12 at night, and they say we’re going further.

I’ve eaten so well here that I don’t even remember the last time I ate. For lunch they gave me a whole loaf of black bread. I ate it with such pleasure, it was so tasty and there was so much of it (and the meat in that lunch… mmm…). I almost ate the whole loaf all in one go.

So I’m very, very happy now. Like a cat that’s just eaten a whole bowl of sour cream.
What else. They took me out of IK-7 almost immediately after giving me lunch on Friday (02.12.2016). Apparently on purpose so that I wouldn’t have enough time to get ready and say anything about their numerous violations even on leaving, they told me to get ready 30-45 minutes before we actually left.

Again (as I was getting them together) they went through all my things. They didn’t let me check anything – first they messed up all my stuff again, then they just threw it all into a bag without my permission and practically chased me at a run into the police bus for departure (yes, and at the same time mentioning something about a hospital).

Meanwhile (while I was gathering my things) they were also all trying to foist some financial or other papers on me, obviously thinking I’d sign everything in a rush (I imagine it’s not just me they pull this trick on).

I automatically signed some paper saying that I had 815 roubles in cash. But then I saw some other paper where the amount was 4,000 roubles. They never gave me a chance to look at that document, but they wanted me to sign it quickly.

Since they didn’t give me a real chance to look a the document, I didn’t sign it. In that document I saw a lot of expenditures of some kind that I didn’t make. I only bought things twice. They told me that first 1,550 roubles had come into my account, and then (15.11.16, Tuesday) – 1,080 roubles. Out of the first transfer I spent 1,460 roubles, and out of the second about 330 roubles, so 840 roubles should have been left of those transfers.

Basically, on Friday afternoon rushing at top speed, they drove me out of IK-7, took me to a train, put me on it and this morning the train brought me to Vologda.

(I’m sure that they knew about my departure in advance, they just do it like that deliberately so that a person who isn’t expecting anything can’t get ready properly and check everything, to make him sign all kinds of fabricated documents, while hoping that the person won’t understand things in his haste and will sign everything).

They brought me to Vologda’s SIZO-2, where I came in transit when they were taking me to Karelia in September. But this time they put me in quarantine in a virtually VIP apartment, some kind of four-bunk cell for me alone, which had been renovated. Here, in Vologda’s SIZO-2, they did everything respectfully and carefully during the search, they didn’t mess anything up, it was all polite. They took me to the shower and even for a walk.

Basically, heaven and earth compared with the Nazis, lunatics and criminals of Karelia.
