The “Article 20” project is a non-profit, non-political information project on the observance of the right to freedom of assembly and association in the world. We publish news, monitor and analyze the situation, develop relations between East and West, unite activists.
The project was founded in 2008 in Russia by a group of activists and human rights activists. The activists decided to launch a new information project that would help both the community and interested parties to receive information regarding the observance of the right to freedom of assembly and association in Russia, and later in the Crimea.
The right to freedom of assembly and association directly affects the ability to express one’s point of view, and sometimes to protect health and life, and to attract public attention. After the 2000s, the problems of human rights violations in the Crimea and forced emigration from Russia acquired particular urgency.
We do not support any political force.
